Skuldtech provides construction of gene expression libraries by using high throughput sequencing technology and proprietary Bioinformatics tools.
By using our company’s platform, researchers can obtain a complete view of the transcriptional activity, coding or non-coding RNA, in eukaryotic or prokaryotic cells without any prior knowledge on genomes and establish profiles for accurately identifying and quantifying each expressed gene.
Skuldtech supports a broad and complementary portfolio of gene expression analysis products which include:
- quantitative coding RNA,
- noncoding RNA expression and small RNA species from “Digital Gene Expression” data (SAGE-like method),
- assessing exon-level expression from RNA-seq data, and lastly,
- paired-end reads which are used for solving repeats by jumping across them and clarifying the order of unique flanking regions or revealing trans-splicing processes.
Some gene annotations of non-model organisms need to be consolidated for the gene expression analysis. In this case, Skuldtech provides construction of EST libraries based on the 454 Life Sciences/Roche Diagnostics platform which provides more than 400,000 sequences of 400 nucleotide lengths.
Skuldtech’s high throughput data acquisition platform is associated with powerful Bioinformatics programs, which have been developed for processing and analyzing these specific types of genomic data. They can easily be integrated into any other Bioinformatics database or any gene analysis Bioinformatics tool.
Skuldtech’s Bioinformatics programs are accessed through an active and user-friendly website and can be used for processing and validating experimental data, identifying expressed genes, comparing gene profiles and for giving a biological sense to observed variations through the integration of data in their biological context (interaction and biological networks, inter-species comparative analysis, etc.).
Regarding its gene profile analysis programs, Skuldtech has processed and analyzed DGE sequencing data from several international academic laboratories, as well as for human, animal or plant organisms.

Gene expression data analysis and implementation
Skuldtech’s platform enables to analyze gene expression profiles and accurately identify and quantify each expressed gene. This high throughput data acquisition platform is associated with powerful Bioinformatics programs, which have been developed to process and analyze these specific kinds of genomic data and which can be easily integrated with any other Bioinformatics database or any gene analysis Bioinformatics tool.

Gene expression profile database
Thanks to its Bioinformatics platform, Skuldtech provides access to a large gene profile database containing more than 1,000 gene expression patterns.
Biotag, Skuldtech’s active and user-friendly website access tool, is being used for developing this database so that end-users can access relevant biological data.
Therefore, each user can easily search and compare his selected gene profiles and transcriptome libraries, design biomarker sets in a specific tissue and/or tumour, and anticipate drug effects on complete organisms, etc.
Biotag allows each user to:
- Associate a gene, a mRNA or a simple acid nucleic sequence, with a well-defined tag signature, and to measure the relevance of the information obtained (sense or antisense mRNA, pseudogene, repeated sequences, etc.),
- Visualize the expression level of any tag signature in any organisms: Homo sapiens, Mus musculus, etc.
- Visualize each tag signature based on tissue, pathology or functional criteria.
- Establish an achieve genomic homology between Homo sapiens and Mus musculus organisms.
- Associate a gene with its potential antisense strand.
- Search for potential limited punctual genetic polymorphisms.
- Identify potential splicing gene events.
- etc.

On the basis of its gene expression profile database and Biotag, an active and user-friendly website access tool, Skuldtech provides customized websites dedicated to researchers.
For any gene from his/her selection, a user can obtain a form including several genomic data – he/she can discover the different profiles, classified by tissue or pathology, in which this gene is expressed.
In addition, the user can easily make detailed comparisons between two genes (or more) from his/her selection and assess their potential co-expression in the pathology/tissue under study.
